Padlet is one of many web platforms and mobile applications that offer space for collaboration. After registration, it offers several types of accounts – personal, student, teacher, school staff, business. The selected type can be changed at any time. If the user chooses the role of teacher or school staff, the TA (Teaching Assistant) tab will appear in the main interface. Padlet TA is a teaching assistant that uses artificial intelligence and is designed to help teachers with lesson preparation and administrative tasks so that teachers can focus more on teaching itself.
The application allows integration with Google services – after logging in via a Google account, it is possible to share materials in Google Classroom and add files from Google Drive.
Creation in Padlet is limited by the subscription you choose. In the free Neon version, you can create a maximum of 3 boards or sandboxes. There are also Gold and Platinum versions to choose from – they differ in price, the number of padlets allowed, and upload size.
Boards, or padlets, can have different structures—timeline, free space, etc.—and serve various purposes, such as brainstorming, personal creation, presentations (e.g., via the slideshow feature), or as teaching material. Users can insert text, images, links to videos, or audio recordings. In addition, reactions or comments can be added, and the author and time stamp of the post can be displayed.
Sandbox is a special type of digital whiteboard that enables real-time collaboration. Users can insert multimedia elements as on a bulletin board, but it also supports activities such as drawing and inserting notes, creating polls, and other interactive tools.
The "Learn" tab is available not only for beginners and contains instructional videos to help you get started with the platform and create materials.
